Directions

The Ripley Center:

The Ripley Center, located at 1100 Jefferson Drive SW, on the National Mall, is metro accessible. On the Orange and Blue line use the Smithsonian station. From the Yellow and Green use L'Enfant Plaza stop. View a map.

  • From the Smithsonian Metro stop:
    Use the National Mall exit from the Metro and you will be able to see the Ripley Center, next to the Smithsonian Castle upon reaching the top of the escalator.
  • From L'Enfant Plaza Metro stop:
    Use the D Street exit and walk out the doors to your right as you come off the escalator. Go up the steps on your left to reach the Plaza. Walk down the hotel driveway to the road and then proceed right down the street toward Independence Ave. You should see the Smithsonian Castle and the Haupt garden directly in front of you as you approach Independence Ave. Proceed through the garden gates to the left-hand side of the Castle and look for the Ripley Center.

Parking:
Three hour parking is permitted on Jefferson Drive SW, on the National Mall from 10:00 a.m. every morning. Parking is not readily available and you are not likely to get a space. We encourage you to use Metro.

Upon entering the Ripley Center:
The Ripley Center's front desk will be occupied by a security guard who may ask you where you are headed or to see your tickets and to inspect any bags you might have brought with you.

Discovery Theater is on the 3rd level of the Ripley Center. You may take the stairs and escalator down or you may use the elevator to go down to the third floor.
