Alphabet RockersAlphabet Rockers is the "modern day De La Soul for the 21st century (all-natural) juice box crowd" (Cooper & Kid). This is an intergenerational dance party where the performers' infectious energy and hip hop grooves get kids jumping and head nodders rocking out - all set to educational lyrics about complex cultural topics and learning goals. Alphabet Rockers make learning come alive through the beats, rhymes, moves and community of hip hop - and you will have confidence this is adding value to your community and life.

About the Band:
Alphabet Rockers was created by Kaitlin McGraw and Tommy Shepherd, Jr. Kaitlin is a Harvard graduate in Afro-American Studies and a leader in the arts education community in the Bay Area. She is also a featured speaker and trainer at conferences on arts and integrated learning. Tommy (aka Emcee Soulati) is a professional actor/writer/musician and has toured internationally in hip hop theater. From the Kennedy Center to Wolf Trap, Tommy bridges communities and art forms through his work as a beatboxer, rapper, playwright and drummer. The Alphabet Rockers travel all over doing assemblies, workshops and residencies on important topics such as diversity, nutrition, and bullying prevention.
